Happy Halloween week! Welcome to two days full of wicked prizes and hauntingly delightful posts.

MD_Cover500I’m giving away a signed copy of Midnight Dawn, (Mortal Machine #2), to one lucky commenter. My giveaway is international, and I’d love to hear from you, so drop me lots of comments for more chances to win.

I absolutely LOVED Halloween as a kid. The only sucky part was that I lived in the country where my nearest neighbor was a good twenty minute walk, so we had to be driven around.

Still, I slapped on my plastic costume with the creepy face mask and trooped back and forth from the car to each of the neighbor houses through the rain, and even snow some years, into houses that smelled like moth balls. All with a ridiculously wide grin on my face.

I’ve been accosted by geese, crabby dogs, roosters, and even the odd miserable old geezer who was a total Halloween scrooge. Nothing could ruin that night for me, though. There was nothing better than emptying out that pillow case to find homemade caramel corn balls, candy apples, chocolate fudge, and other homemade delights that this generation will probably never receive in their loot bags.

They are so missing out. Big time.

I’d love to hear your favorite Halloween memory, either as an adult or a kid. Please include a way to contact you, twitter/email/facebook, in case you are the winner of my prize. Contact info will not be used for any other reason.

Double Book Birthday Bash! @epembrace

I’m so excited to share this double book birthday for two fellow Entangled Embrace authors, Katie Delahanty and Rebecca Yarros. Congrats, ladies, they sound awesome.

Check out the pretties!

In Bloom by Katie Delahanty

In Bloom coverMy name is Olivia Bloom and I. Am. Free.

I left for LA with everything I owned piled into my old Volkswagen and dreams of becoming a costume designer. Little did I know I’d wind up designing for a lingerie company—yeah, not sure how I landed this gig—and taken under the wing of two young Hollywood insiders. The fashion shows and parties were great, but life really got exciting when the seriously hottest lead singer of my favorite band started to fall for me.

How does someone like me, an ordinary girl from Pittsburgh, wind up in the arms of the world’s sexiest rock star—surrounded by celebrities, fashion, and music—and not be eaten alive? Berkeley is everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, but the paparazzi, the tabloids, the rumors, it’s all getting a bit too crazy. My life has become every girl’s dream come true, if only I don’t blink and lose it all…

Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros

FullMeasures_500She knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead.

Twenty years as an army brat and Ember Howard knew, too. The soldiers at the door meant her dad was never coming home. What she didn’t know was how she would find the strength to singlehandedly care for her crumbling family when her mom falls apart.

Then Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her ov er and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.

Until Josh’s secret shatters their world. And Ember must decide if he’s worth the risk that comes with loving a man who could strip her bare.

About Rebecca

Rebecca Yarros is a mom, military wife, blogger, and author of Young Adult and New Adult fiction.  In addition to raising an absolute gaggle of somewhat-noisy children, she draws inspiration for her fiction from her favorite authors like Mercedes Lackey, Gayle Forman, and Gena Showalter.
She’s a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but is still holding out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts.  Her blog, The Only Girl Among Boys, has been voted the Top Military Mom Blog, and celebrates the complex issues surrounding military life that have helped shape her characters, who are strong in the face of odds and meet challenges with courage, tenderness, and grace.
When she’s not writing, she loves to travel with her husband, always seeking to ink up that passport a little more and discover new settings for new novels.  Her favorite destinations include Paris, Scotland, Istanbul, Mykonos, Capri, and her home state of Colorado.  She’s a guitar-player when no one is watching, and a cake-decorator when everyone is eating.

Mortal Machine is coming! #booknews #nalit

As I sit here at the keyboard, I am actually wiggling in my chair.  I’ve been sitting on my BIG NEWS for about a week now, and it’s been eating me alive.

So, before I go blurting it out to you, let me start at the beginning.

A couple of years ago, a publisher came to my attention that produced amazing books with fantastic covers.  I began to stalk investigate and research this company to see what makes them tick, dreaming about seeing one of my books among their impressive ranks.

I’ve subbed to them before with no success.  I was disappointed, but also encouraged by what they had to say to me.  They loved my writing, there just wasn’t a market for what I’d written about back then.

Two months ago, I sent Darkside Sun to them, my new adult romantic urban fantasy trilogy opener.  I paced around like a crazed loon for what felt like forever waited patiently for them to respond.  I certainly didn’t check my submission status on the website every day.  Nope.

And then something crazy happened.  While I was at work, my husband sent me an email from home.  “I just got off the phone with a publishing company,” he said.

*cue the squealing tires in my head*  I’m sorry, what was that?  You got off the phone with a what?  Because I totally couldn’t have read that right.  Publishing companies did not call me.  Ever.  An email, maybe, if I was lucky.  They really called?  My house?  Looking for me?

Holy blue streak of cursing!

When I fell down from the roof, I found out they were going to send me an email.  I swear the hours between when I learned of their call and when I finally had a break from work to check my email was the longest two hours of my life, other than when I was in labor, of course.

So, after enough praise to explode my head and welcome from the entire team, I am so bloody excited to announce that I’ve signed a 3 book contract for the Mortal Machine trilogy with..

Entangled Publishing

Yes, you read that right.  Entangled-freakin’-Publishing!  Darkside Sun will come out first in the Embrace imprint.  Midnight Dawn and Forever Dusk will follow at some point.

Without my amazing beta readers who put Darside Sun through its paces and encouraged me during all of my many rejections, this would not have happened.  To Amaleen Ison, Jennifer M. Eaton and Anna Simpson, thank you from the four corners of my heart.

I don’t have any official release dates for you yet, but edits will begin shortly.  I’m sure I’ll have lots of little nuggets to share with you over the next few months, like CRAZY GOOD cover art, blurbs, excerpts and such, so stay tuned to the blogzilla.

Life is good.  Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and shout this from the roof tops.
