{Cover Reveal} Reaper by L. S. Murphy

I’m so happy to congratulate L. S. Murphy on the release of her debut YA novel, Reaper.  Although I haven’t had the pleasure of reading it yet, it sounds awesome!

Check it out.

Reaper
by L.S. Murphy
Release Date: January 7, 2013
Target Reader: Young Adult
Keywords: Urban Fantasy

Back of the Book:
There’s no way sixteen year old Quincy Amarante will become the fifth grim reaper. None. Not over her shiny blue Mustang. Her Jimmy Choos. Or her dead body.

She’s supposed to enjoy her sophomore year, not learn about some freaky future Destiny says she has no choice but to fulfill.

It doesn’t take long for Quincy to realize the only way out of the game is to play along especially since Death can find her anyway, anywhere, anytime. And does.

Like when she’s reassuring her friends she wants nothing to do with former best friend Ben Moorland, who’s returned from god-knows-where, and fails. Miserably.

Instead of maintaining her coveted popularity status, Quincy’s goes down like the Titanic.

Maybe … just maybe … that’s okay.

It seems, perhaps, becoming a grim reaper isn’t just about the dead but more about a much needed shift in Quincy’s priorities—from who she thinks she wants to be to who she really is.

{Cover Reveal} After Dark by Emi Gayle

I LOVE this cover!  I’ve had the pleasure of reading a draft of this book, and the cover is a perfect fit with the story.

You’ll love it.  YA lovers need to check out this book when it comes out in October.

After Dark
The 19th Year Trilogy – Book 1
by Emi Gayle
Release Date: October 31, 2012
Target Reader: Young Adult
Keywords: Paranormal Romance

Back of the Book
What eighteen year old Mac Thorne doesn’t know will probably kill her.

In exactly eight months, five days, three hours and thirteen minutes, Mac has to choose what she’ll be for the rest of her life.

She has no choice but to pick. As a Changeling, it’s her birthright. To Mac, it’s a birthchore. Like going to school with humans, interacting with humans, and pretending to be human during the pesky daylight hours.

Once darkness descends, Mac can change into any supernatural form that exists — which makes her as happy as she can be. That is, until Winn Thomas, the biggest geek in her senior class figures out there’s more to what hides in the dark than most are willing to acknowledge.

In this first of the 19th Year Trilogy, Winn might know more about Mac than even she does, and that knowledge could end their lives, unless Mac ensures the powers-that-be have no choice but to keep him around.

{Cover Reveal} Shadowborn – Lila Gray #2

I think the winter went by when I blinked.

How can it possibly be time to reveal the next book in the Lila Gray trilogy already?  Normally waiting seems like forever, but this one came up fast since I’ve busied myself writing like a madwoman!  Not that I’m complaining.  We all know how much I love waiting!

This book was very emotional for me to write, since I was so very mean to Lila.  I am so thrilled with how it turned out, though, and I’m dying to share it with all of you in October.

To tide you over, here’s a glimpse of Shadowborn.

Why me?

That’s the question Lila Gray asks every time yet another bad guy tries to destroy the earth, and she learns she’s the only one who can stop it. Once again, something’s on the prowl, leaving hundreds of comatose, soulless victims in its wake.

Couldn’t the deadliest assassins of the Otherworld go after someone else instead of the brand new Queen of the Seelie? One who still hasn’t adapted to her new role.

Lila would ask Liam Kane, King of the Unseelie, for advice, but something’s off with him, too. He’s holding back. In some way. About some thing. In fact, he refuses to tell her what’s going on.

The truth holds Lila back from the greatness of her role—the people she was born to lead—the man who she desperately loves—and the solution to the latest war raging around her.

To find the answers, she’ll need to fight through her own darkness and embark on a journey through her psyche.

If she doesn’t succeed, the Shadowborn will claim not only her world, but her soul.

I can’t tell you just how perfect this cover is.  The tone.  The darkness.  the image itself is right out of the book, right out of my imagination.  Sometimes J. Taylor’s talented cover designer makes me think she can read my mind.

What do you think?  Would you pick it up to read the back?

{Cover Reveal} Call of the Sea by Rebecca Hart

It isn’t every day an author gets to release the cover of their VERY FIRST novel, and I am thrilled to share in the excitement and spread the word for my good friend, Rebecca Hart.  Here’s the little lovely for Call of the Sea

Elysandra Winters has always yearned for a life of adventure on the rolling seas and is willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill her dream. When her Privateer father continually refuses to allow his only daughter to sail, Ellie defies him, disguises herself as a boy, and goes in search of a captain who will give her a chance to prove her worth.

Thanks to the cursed selkie blood coursing through his veins, Daniel O’Rourke needs the sea to survive. After giving up on his humanity and spending three years in seal form, he decides to give his human side another chance. Daniel goes in search of a job and a sense of normalcy, earning himself a position aboard Captain Winter’s ship, The Surf Runner. However, his new captain’s first assignment has nothing at all to do with sailing, and everything to do with his headstrong young daughter.

Years later, when the leader of a band of bloodthirsty pirates murders Captain Winters, Daniel and Elysandra’s lives come crashing back together with the force of a hurricane. Both experts in deception, they must find a way to trust each other if they are to have any hope of hunting down the captain’s killer.

Congrats, girl!  It was only a matter of time.

Check out Rebecca and her wonderful writing:
