Blue Moon Blog Tour Stop 2 #bluemoon #hollowaypack

Welcome to another stop on J. A. Belfield’s Blue Moon tour!  Blue Moon is the second installment of the Holloway Pack series.

Today we’re joining Liam Kane from the Lila Gray series as he meets up with Sean from the Holloway Pack series to commiserate.

Sean waves from the the least crowded corner of the bar. I nod, wade through the masses and sit down at a leather stool beside him. He’s already ordered me a beer, apparently, because the burly bartender plunks it down in front of me. “Hey, man, long time no see. Been one hell of a year.” Since Sean’s a werewolf, hearing me over the roaring chatter won’t be a problem. I lift my beer in thanks and take a swig as Sean grins and nods. “I swear these authors enjoy screwing us over.”

“Sounds like you’re having a crap time of it,” Sean says. “Though I’d be lying if I said I’ve been having a ball myself.”

“Oh yeah?  What’s that Belfield chick been up to now?  Drop a herd of demons in your lap or something?”

“You know, demons I could probably deal with. A good fight solves a lot. But how’s a wolf to deal when what he’s made to face is something he isn’t comfortable using force against?” He shakes his head and takes a swig of his beer. “Worst enemy ever is one you can’t hit.”

“Hell, ask Lila about that sometime.”  I laugh and down another swig of my beer.  “I know exactly what you mean.  Jem kick some ass again?”

“Yeah …” He smiles, a faint expression. “You could say that.” He taps his bottle on the bar. “You know, one half of me feels so in awe of her strengths. But the other half wishes she’d just quit with the heroics and tuck herself somewhere safe whilst she lets me take care of her. Though, I guess, if she behaved that way … she wouldn’t be Jem. You know what I’m saying?”

“Christ, amen on the heroics.  I swear it rips me up every time Lila walks out the door.”  I chuckle and brace myself for a pounding.  “So … heard your buddy Josh has a little thing for Jem.  How’s that working out?”

“A thing?” He laughs and shakes his head. “Nah. Just Josh being Josh. And just Jem smelling like the sweetest deal the pack has ever smelled. Add into that the fact she adores him in return.” He tips his bottle in my direction. “Folk who see more than that? It’s just because they’re ignorant to the pack way of life.”

I laugh.  “Relax, man.  I’m just yanking your chain.  Josh reminds me of a certain captain of mine, a good kid.”  I drain my drink and lean an elbow on the bar.  “So, is Belfield through with you yet?  Or is she threatening to throw you to the ‘wolves’ again so to speak?”

“No idea, man. Who the hell knows what that female has up her sleeve? But all this talk about my maker is enough to clog a thirst in my throat.” He downs the rest of his drink and jerks his chin my way whilst signaling to the barman. “You game?”

I clink my bottle against his.  “Hell yeah.  Let’s enjoy the calm between the book storms while it lasts.”

Hmm, I get the feeling our boys are a wee bit upset with us.  *cringes*  Hopefully they’ll still be talking to us after the next books come out.  🙂

Within no time, they had a life, a lover, a foe, family … they had Become.

One day, she wrote down her thoughts. She’s yet to stop.
