Title:  Will the Real Prince Charming Please Stand Up?

 Author:  Ella Martin

Publisher:  Astraea Press

Publication Date:  July 1, 2014

Happily Ever After only happens with the right guy. It’s a tiny but important detail most fairy tales choose to leave out. But what happens when the princess rides off into the sunset with Prince Charming, only to discover he’s not so charming, after all?

Bianca Sullivan thinks she’s a pretty average girl. Sure, her brother may be the super-stud captain of the football team, but that’s her only claim to fame –- until her friends’ social experiment turns her into the new It girl of the Sophomore class, and she captures the attention of the most popular guy in her grade. Ecstatic to introduce the world to her first boyfriend, she’s trying to enjoy being wooed by the ultimate heartthrob. But no one’s ever told her what to do when her friends hate her boyfriend and Prince Charming starts acting like a control-freaky misogynist. And as if deciding whether to trust Prince Charming, her friends, or her own instincts wasn’t hard enough, being around her brother’s best friend is making her head all fuzzy, too. Oh, if only love was as simple as fairy tales make it out to be…

Double Book Birthday Bash! @epembrace

I’m so excited to share this double book birthday for two fellow Entangled Embrace authors, Katie Delahanty and Rebecca Yarros. Congrats, ladies, they sound awesome.

Check out the pretties!

In Bloom by Katie Delahanty

In Bloom coverMy name is Olivia Bloom and I. Am. Free.

I left for LA with everything I owned piled into my old Volkswagen and dreams of becoming a costume designer. Little did I know I’d wind up designing for a lingerie company—yeah, not sure how I landed this gig—and taken under the wing of two young Hollywood insiders. The fashion shows and parties were great, but life really got exciting when the seriously hottest lead singer of my favorite band started to fall for me.

How does someone like me, an ordinary girl from Pittsburgh, wind up in the arms of the world’s sexiest rock star—surrounded by celebrities, fashion, and music—and not be eaten alive? Berkeley is everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, but the paparazzi, the tabloids, the rumors, it’s all getting a bit too crazy. My life has become every girl’s dream come true, if only I don’t blink and lose it all…

{Meet the Author} Jennifer M. Eaton

MeetTheAuthor header

It’s time for another round of Meet the Author.  Today I welcome Jennifer M. Eaton to the hot seat so she can introduce her newly released story, Jack and Jill, Volume I.

Welcome, Jennifer!

Let’s turn up the heat a little, shall we?  ;)  If you met a yummy man who had a time machine, where would you ask him to take you, and when?

Oh!  So many scrumptious choices!  Let’s see… He’s yummy right?  Well, there’s nothing sexier than a guy in armor jousting, so lets go back to Medieval England.  Yeah, a big flowing dress for me, and a knight in not-so-shiny armor.  Sounds like a date to me!

I’m a medieval girl, too, when the men were mostly devilish brutes.  *swoon*  What’s your favorite paragraph from Jack and Jill?  No spoilers now, just a nice, slow tease if you please.

This is the paragraph that immediately came to mind.  It might lose a little without the lead in, but these are the woes of a secret office romance…

He leaned back down to my computer and moved the mouse. The cursor swept across my screen, pointing at nothing. “Do you realize how long it’s been since I kissed you?”

“Before Christmas, you’d never kissed me.”

He kept his eyes on my monitor and brushed his smooth cheek against mine. A sweet musky scent embraced my senses as the heat of his touch raged through me with the speed of a chariot. “What a waste of six years.” He stood and walked toward my cubicle doorway. “Thanks. I’ll go get those reports.” He winked and slipped into the hall, leaving me trembling in the wake of his Jack-ness.

Ooo, I’m all tingly.  Nice scene setup.  Do you have any odd rituals when you write, like stand on your head to get the blood flowing or turn around three times before you sit at your desk?  Not that I do that, just saying.

Ha!  I totally bet you do… I hope you keep those drapes drawn at all times.  I have caught myself “turning into” a character and talking “to the right” then I turn into the other character and “talk to the left”  It helps me to get a feel of the conversation if I’m part of it.  :-)

I have no curtains ;) and I can honestly say I’ve never thought of acting out my scenes.  *nods*  That could be interesting.  Where did your hero come from?  Someone you know?  Dreams of the *ahem* daytime persuasion?  What makes him tick?  Inquiring minds would like to know.

Tee Hee.  Everyone needs a little daytime persuasion, right?  I must admit, the guys in my stories are hunky from MY PERSPECTIVE, but I have very particular tastes, which don’t match what’s on the covers of Romance Novels.  The funny thing is, I married a cute, plump guy who just lost 60 pounds or so, and is coming close to looking like one of these cover-guys.  I’m not complaining.

Right on!  Good for him.  Mine recently lost a great deal too.  What scared you most as a child?  Has it changed as an adult?

As a child I was scared to death of things that went bump in the night. There was an old movie called “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” that kept me up and terrified for over a year.  I recently got a copy of it for my husband, but I have not had the guts to watch it yet myself, even though the dark doesn’t bother me anymore.

I’ve never seen it, but now I have to.  With all of the lights on and long before I have to go to bed, of course.  :)  Are there any other fantastic novels waiting to burst free from your imagination in the future?

Oh Yes!  Always a ton on the Horizon.  Jack and Jill Volume One is (you guessed it) volume one of a series.  I’ll be telling their story through the first year concentrating on events that happen during holidays.  Great fun.  I also have a Paranormal Romance called Une Variante that I am currently shopping at publishers.  I should have my first Young Adult novel, Fire in the Woods completed in the next few months.  That’s my current baby.  It’s a roller coaster chase through the woods while dodging explosions kind of novel.  Tons of fun!

Wow, you’re a busy girl!  Good luck with your submissions.  Speaking of that nerve-wracking task, tell us about your road to publication.  Was it short and sweet?  Long and winding with many bumps?

I was lucky enough to pay my dues before actually getting to the point of being slapped by publishers.  I did a deep dive into the beta world and learned everything I could from anyone willing to teach me.  It took several years. I also shelved the first novel I wrote after a twenty year hiatus, and started fresh with my new wealth of information.  Because of this, I think I was a little more honed than some.  My first two submissions to publishers (for anthologies) were accepted.  Jack and Jill Volume One is my third publication. I’m far from perfect, though.  I’m still learning every day.

You’re far more patient than I am.  :)  Do you have any phobias, like run-screaming-at-the-mere-mention-of-it, fears?

This is going to sound weird, but I have a fear of places I’ve never been to before.  I can go into a new store, or restaurant, but usually not alone.  Lately I’ve had to force myself into situations like these for book-signing and the such, so I am getting better, but it still makes me uncomfortable.

That almost sounds like something akin to agoraphobia, but for places instead of people.  I have a bit of that myself, so I sympathize.  Thanks for letting us get to know you a little better!

Is Chastity Bush a boy shorts or a commando girl? #MeetTheAuthor

Is it Friday again, already?  Hokey, where did the week go?  It’s time, once again, for Meet the Author.  We’re back with yet another kick-butt author to strip her down and see how she works.  ;)

Please give a warm welcome to Chastity Bush, spicy romance author of her latest delicacy, The Stranger Next Door.

I just have to say what an awesome name you have!  :)  What scared you most as a child?  Has it changed as an adult?

As a child I was afraid of everything. From spiders to strangers, you name it, I was afraid of it. Now that I’m grown, I’ve shaken most of my fears, but still to this day, if you come at me with a spider, you better expect to get ninja kicked!

That makes two of us.  They are creeptacular, aren’t they?  *shivers*  While I haven’t read your book, it sounds awesome and has jumped up to the top of my TBR pile.  Are there any other fantastic novels waiting to burst free from your imagination in the future?

Actually I’m working on several at the moment. The one I’m most excited about is titled Melody Massacre to the Rescue. It’s a paranormal romantic suspense about special agent Melody Massacre. She hunts and captures rogue ‘others’ and at the moment is on the trail of one who’s leaving the mutilated bodies of men at truck stops all across the states. She, along with fellow agent Bennett Mason must identify, find, and capture the killer, while fighting their growing desires for each other.

Oh, I love me some good PNR.  Sounds like it would be right up my alley to curl up in bed with.  ;)  Speaking of bedtime, there are a lot of stereotypes cast in a romance novelist’s direction, like they must sleep in slinky lingerie when most I’ve met are dressed from head to toe in flannel jammies when they hit the sack.  Are you a warm and comfy girl?  Or an in-the-buff or silk and satin kind of girl?

Those stereotypes make me crazy at time. But on this… Now, don’t get me wrong, I love warm and soft and fuzzy, but I have to be comfortable while I sleep, so when I hit the sack, it’s in the buff all the way.

Right on!  You and me both.  I don’t get sleeping in clothes, getting all tangled in sleeves and bottoms that ride up.  It’s just so wrong and confining.  How about the waking hours?  Are you a boy shorts, granny panties, thong, g-string or commando girl?

It all depends really, mostly commando, unless I’m being sexy for my hubby, then there’s no telling what I’ll put on. *Big grin*

Yes!  Ha!  A girl after my own heart, not that I swing that way, just sayin’.  Love it!  :)  You, like most of us ink-wranglers I’m sure, put a lot of effort and heart into your characters.  How much of you is in your heroine?

I always put a little bit of myself into my heroines. Most of it is sarcasm. I’ve been accused a time or two of being sarcastic, but I feel it really makes my heroines pop.

The more of an author in a character, the more believable, I think.  I’m a little on the sarcastic side, too, so now I’m even more excited to read your work.  Do you have any quirks?  Odd little tidbits about you that few people know?

Possibly. I don’t like for my food to touch. It drives me crazy for my food to be all smushed together on the plate. I’ve always been like that and really have no idea why. I just can’t stand for my food to touch.

I get that.  I’m that way with certain things, like bread shouldn’t touch wet veggies.  Nothing cold should get hot and vice versa.  Yuck.  Enough to make Cat Woman puke up a hairball.  Speaking of sexy superheros, if you could be one, what would your power be?

I always say that people should be themselves, unless they can be Spiderman, and if that’s the case, then they should always be Spiderman. I just think it’d be really cool as I’ve always been a fan of Spiderman, as are my daughters. Strange isn’t it? I hate spiders, but love Spiderman?

I couldn’t agree more.  Be your own superhero, the penned avenger!  *snort*  Spiderman is pretty cool, though I’m afraid of heights, so I wouldn’t dig the whole swinging from a web thing.  If he asked you out for dinner, what would you eat?  Favorite food, as in need-to-get-a-room-to-be-alone-with-it, favorite.

Hands down, Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey Ice Cream and their Raspberry Fudge Chunk frozen Greek yogurt. I can’t get enough of either one. Just talking about it makes me want to rush to the store, climb into the cooler, and have at it!

Thank you so much for having me here today. I appreciate the support!

Mmm, ice cream.  I’ve never had Ben & Jerry’s and now … excuse me while I run to the store!  While I’m on an ice cream run, why not check out The Stranger Next Door:

Interview with Charley Randall

Have you ever met a Mimic?  Me either.  That’s why I was thrilled with Charley Randall from Aimee Laine’s Little White Lies agreed to an exclusive interview with me.

I bet you’ve been some interesting people over your lifetime.  Who is the most memorable person you’ve ever mimicked and why?

Okay, well … hmmm… you know, that’s a really hard question because in any given year, I could have been 10-12 people. Sometimes more. Add that up over my ::cough:: … uh … 200 years and well, that’s … a lot of different folks. I can’t really name names, but I’ve played a few princesses, one of the English
variety and one who never had the title ‘princess’ but should have back in the … well … middle of the 20th century. You’d be amazed at what goes on behind
the curtains of ‘royalty’ … then again, it’s really no different than in my own house, just totally in the public eye.  ::wink::

You’ve lived ever little girl’s dream, to be a princess for a day.  How cool is that?  How weird was it the first time you stood in front of the mirror as someone else?  I mean, sometimes I stand in front of the mirror and my own reflection startles the hell out of me.  :)

Well … I was 13 at the time and had just figured out what I could do. I didn’t have anyone around at the time, so the first thing I did was … um … well
… enhance my 13 year old cleavage if you know what I mean. From there, I started enhancing other areas until I took on my Mom’s shape. She was a
beautiful woman, a Mimic, too, but one who’d blended with my Dad fifteen years before. Of course I didn’t know she was a Mimic as she’d avoided the
“you’re going to be able to change your shape” conversation the way today’s moms avoid the birds and bees conversation.

Right on!  I wish I could enhance my cleavage!  Hey, I’m curious about the Mimics.  Is there some sort of governing body you answer to?

There is always a governing body … for all ‘otherworldy’ beings or humans with supernatural abilities. As long as you don’t let those who aren’t on a need to know basis … know … then they stay out of our lives. I’ve never had to deal with them in all my years.

That’s good, because it sounds like you have enough of the US government bossing you around without having your own, too.  What’s the deal with Lily and Cael?  Are we going to find out in book two what’s keeping them apart?

::sigh::  Lily and Cael. I think you’ll learn, yes. The two of them are meant for each other. They really are. They always have been. They know it too, but Lily …  well … Lily’s a bit of a shattered soul. She hides it really well and  sometimes, you’d never know it. She needs to come to grips with a few things
before she’ll ever accept Cael. And Cael? Well … he may be big and strong and  fierce, but when it comes to Lily, he’s the biggest teddy bear around. He’ll do
anything for her, including wait until she comes to her senses.

I really hope she comes to those senses soon.  Her loyal fans want to know how their story ends, dammit!  Okay, now that that’s out of my system, moving on.  Knowing Wyatt loved and wondered about you all  the years you were separated, if you could go back to that night of the dance, would you still walk away?

::very very slow blink:: Yeah, I would. ::deep breath in:: It was the hardest thing  I’ve ever done, but it was important. It was necessary. He needed to experience life before he got saddled with me, which at 18, that’s exactly what would have happened to him.

Yeah, I get that.  You’re definitely stronger than I would have been had I been in you’re shoes.   What’s your single biggest regret?

I have no regrets. Everything I’ve done has been for a reason and while that reason might seem to have spurred regrets, after 200 years, I know not to look
at them that way. They were right at the time and since time travel isn’t … well … they were right at the time.

What an awesome attitude.  If only we could all look at our lives that way, there’d be loads of happier folks in the world.  Do you still visit James and the clan since your “change”?  Do you miss the way you used to be?

James,  Cael, Lily and now Wyatt and I are a team. There is no ‘visiting’ though I did  move out of my house and into Wyatt’s. We still see each other every day because we work together … well … I should say they all work together and  are trying to keep me out, but we’ll be having none of that in short order. I
have plans. They’ll just have to get over it. Just because I can’t look like someone else without a little stage makeup doesn’t mean I’m not still 100%
useful.

Ooo, sounds like a battle’s a brewin’.  What’s in store next for you and Wyatt? Any juicy details to share with us?  ::wink wink::

Well … right now we’re planning our wedding. It’s been really fun having my dress designed. Actually, this is really only the second dress I’ve ever picked for an event — Lily does most of my selection because they’ve all been ‘covers’ for others. So the first one I picked was for the dance 16 years ago. This time, I’ve combined what I picked back then with a little extra from Lily’s dress. If you can picture it … it’ll be a mix of the two … sort of. I’m just hopeful
Wyatt will like it because … well … he liked the last one. ::wink::

That was awesome, right?  Thanks to Charley for stopping in and here’s hoping your wedding day is bright and sunny and free of mishaps.  Can’t wait to read on in your story.

For more on Charley and the rest of the memerable characters from Little White Lies, here’s some info on this must-have summer read.

Back Cover Blurb:

When the government needs a body double for a covert operation, they hire shape-shifter Charley Randall. For two centuries, she’s played every part from foreign dignitary to office drone. The role she wants most, though, is one she’s denied herself three times already.

FBI Agent Wyatt Moreland believes Charley’s photographic memory is the key to his latest assignment. He’s oblivious to the true extent of her abilities, but he can’t deny the sense of déjà vu at their introduction.

Unlike Wyatt, Charley knows this isn’t their first meeting.

It’s their fourth.

The girl he vowed to love, sixteen years before, stands in front of him in her true form — one he’ll never recognize.

With each reconnection, Charley loves him more though she realizes this is her last chance to explain. Only absolute truth can bring them happiness, but can Wyatt forgive her deceptions? Or will lies tear them apart forever?
